The Miami Hurricanes football team went into Durham, NC and easily took care of the Blue Devils 31-6. Miami was able to control both sides of the ball and it was a solid team victory overall.
Quarterback Malik Rosier continued his solid play, although it was not his most impressive statistical performance. On the day Rosier completed 15 out of 26 passes for 270 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception. He had another decent game running the ball with 15 carries for 45 yards and a score.
Miami has to be concerned about running back Mark Walton who seems to be getting dinged up in every game so far. He finished with only 51 yards on 17 carries for just a 3-yard average and did not find the endzone. His running mate Travis Homer has been a great compliment all year and continued to impress, despite only three carries he had 43 yards albeit most of it was on an impressive 40-yard touchdown to seal the win.
It was great to see sophomore wide receiver Ahmonn Richards back in action, he had been sidelined with a hamstring injury. Richards showed the game breaking ability that earned him ACC freshman All-American honors on this touchdown strike from Rosier.

The Hurricanes defense had their best performance of the young season, they rattled Duke quarterback Daniel Jones all day. Jones finished with only 166 yards passing, with one interception and a lost fumble. Once again the legendary turnover chain made a glorious appearance.

Miami had their most complete game of the year jumping out 14-3 in the first quarter and never looking back. Duke was unable to find the endzone which has to give the ‘Canes confidence heading into their showdown with FSU. The Seminoles have had a rough start to the year at 1-2, but stole a game late at Wake Forest and will come into the game with a little more confidence. Miami should be able to slow down the Seminoles offense led by freshman quarterback James Blackman who has been very inconsistent so far. Hopefully Walton can use the extra day of rest to be ready to go, look for the Hurricanes to try and control the line of scrimmage and pound the rock against the ‘Noles.
