Daily Fantasy Update: 12/22

Hello fantasy sports fans! We have a busy day of NFL games and NBA action. To briefly recap yesterday’s results, it was a wash. Giannis was good, but not spectacular, LBJ or Davis would have been a better choice. Kuzma was fine though. Temple was a big surprise, a good call there. I really missed out on Ivica Zubac, as I thought Tyson Chandler would get the start. What kind of Lakers fan am I?

Aside from DFS, I know this is championship week for fantasy football leagues. I wish you all good fortune. My advice (which doesn’t amount to much), stick to the guys that got you there. If you have Rivers or Melvin, don’t bench them because of the match-up. Ride them through. Unless you have fantastic other options, like Mahomes or Saqoun Barkley. Lets get into today’s line-ups.

NFL

This first line-up is for a showdown contest, featuring the Ravens @ Chargers.

This is a tough game to pick, as I expect the offense might be down. However, I have followed the Chargers all season, and Philip Rivers has seemed to rise to the challenge. So don’t be afraid of the Ravens defense. If you want to make them the captain instead or include them here, go ahead. They may definitely get a few turnovers. Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn knows how good Baltimore defense is against the run, so he will adjust and let Rivers read the situation.

I’ll go through the names more in the next line-up, but I like Mike Williams to have another solid night. Edwards is the only Raven I considered. Maybe you give Jackson a chance, the Chargers have not faced many running QBs this year. Gates is clearly the best TE option here, unless you want to give Green a chance.

This line-up is a classic contest that includes both Saturday games.

I already discussed Rivers and Gordon. If you want another option, maybe Josh Johnson. Henry should continue to get the carries, as he has proven himself. Crowder is a dart throw for the Redskins, I think they will be down and have to throw to someone. I also chose Sprinkle as my TE, just needed a sprinkle of Sprinkle. I’m sorry. Obviously you can go Gates or maybe the Titans TE. I said I don’t like may of the Ravens players, but I’m giving John Brown a chance here.

I also fit Keenan Allen here, his hip worries me. I don’t know how healthy he really is, but he is the best receiver playing today, so I had to grab him. Titans defense should have a good day at home against a poor Washington offense.

NBA

Led by James Harden and Joel Embiid, I also added two Heat players (Richardson and TJ) who have been doing very well. Exum is my most risky play here, but I’m hoping he has a nice game. His speed and defensive prowess will be needed against Russel Westbrook. OG had a great game last night and should have another as Kawhi Leonard sits out. Oubre Jr. is already returning to Washington, what are the odds? I love a good revenge game.

Speaking of revenge, Ariza might not be looking for revenge, but he does seem to be fitting in well with the Wizards again.
