We all know what is happening on Sunday of this week. But let’s take a look at some local action to hold us over. A pretty slow week sports-wise in Vice City.

Wednesday Jan. 30th:

(12) Virginia Tech @ Miami Hurricanes: The Canes are back in action Wednesday night hosting Virginia Tech. Miami is coming off a 12 point loss to in-state rivals, Florida State. Virginia Tech is ranked 12th in the nation and are fifth in the ACC. Miami swept the season series last year.
Chicago Bulls @ Heat: The Heat tip off a three game home-stand against the Bulls. The Heat won the last match-up 117-103 in Chicago. Miami will be without guard, Goran Dragic and small-forward, Derrick Jones. Shooting-guard, Tyler Johnson is listed as day-to-day. The Heat are looking to sweep the season series.

Thursday Jan. 31st:

Louisiana Tech @ FAU Owls: The Owls host the Bulldogs Thursday night. The Owls are 1-4 in their last five games, but are coming off a 15 point win over FIU. The Owls are looking to pick up a game in conference play.
Southern Miss @ FIU Golden Panthers: The Panthers host Southern Mississippi Thursday night. The Golden Panthers are 2-3 in their last five games including a 15 point loss to in-state rivals FAU Owls. There is a half game difference between the two teams in C-USA standings.

Friday Feb. 1st:

Nashville Predators @ Florida Panthers: The Panthers are back in action after the all-star break. The Panthers are hoping to upset the Nashville Predators who are the current two seed in the central division. The Panthers finished the first half with just 20 wins.
OKC Thunder @ Heat: The Heat host Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder to start the month of February. The Heat are currently a seventh seed out East, while the Thunder a three seed out West. This is the first match-up of the season.

Saturday Feb. 2nd:

Miami Canes @ (3) Virginia: The Canes travel to Charlottesville to play the Virginia Cavaliers. Miami is having a sub-par season at 9-10, while Virginia is one of the top teams in the nation. Virginia is a half game back of Duke for the ACC first place.
Indiana Pacers @ Heat: The Heat look to avoid being swept by the Pacers on Saturday night. These teams last played in November in which the Pacers won 99-91.
Vegas Knights @ Florida Panthers: The Panthers play host to the Knights on Saturday night. The Knights are currently the three seed in the Pacific conference. The Panthers look to catch fire in the second half.

Sunday Feb. 3rd:
SUPER BOWL 53!!   Rams vs Patriots
