Wrapping Up Miami Hurricanes Recruits from NSD

Introducing the New Hurricanes

Cornerbacks: 2 Commits

The biggest story for the Hurricanes was flipping 4-star CB Christian Williams from Alabama. Christian Williams is originally from Daphne, Alabama and he played for Daphne High School where he had success returning kicks, playing corner, and receiver. Williams was the 20th ranked corner in the nation so landing a talented stud like Williams and flipping him from Bama is a huge snag.

The next corner to sign was 4 star Te’Cory Couch who is a 5-foot 9.5-inch corner from Hollywood, Florida. He also is the 35th ranked corner in the nation.

Punters: 1 Commit

This is where you win games! The Hurricanes luckily bolstered their special teams unit adding 3 Star Louis Hedley from City College of San Francisco in California. He currently is the number one ranked punter in the nation so this is a great commit for the Canes.

DT: 3 Commits

This was the obvious big need for Miami this off season because of losses such as Gerald Willis to the draft. Miami went out and signed 3 young DT studs.

Starting with 4 star Jason Blisset who is a 6 foot 3.5 inch DT weighing in at 271 pounds. Jason was the 22nd ranked DT in the nation coming out of Poly Prep from Brooklyn, York

Next big name from today is 3 star 6 foot 4-inch monster Jared Harrison-Hunte who weighs in at 286 pounds. Jared is from Christ The King located in Middle Village, New York and was the 38th ranked DT in the nation.

Finally, 3 star Jalar Holley who stands at 6 foot 2 inches and weighs in at 280 pounds. Holley played for Buford in Buford, Georgia and after wrapping up his career it landed him as the 59th ranked DT.

TE: 1 Commit

With Hurricanes getting the number TE last year they made another splash getting Larry Hodges. Larry Hodges is a 3 star recruit from Jesuit in Tampa, Florida. Hodges is a little shorter standing at 6 foot 1.5 inches and 234 pounds but he is a dynamic player who can be very athletic for this offense.

Safety: 1 Commit

Possibly the second best from this class is 4 star Safety Keontra Smith. Smith is a respectable 5 foot 11 inches and 192 pounds who is from Chaminade Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Florida. Smith currently is ranked the 16th safety in the nation and could make a huge impact for this defense come next year.

OLB: 2 Commits

Another big name for this recruiting class is 4 star Avery Huff who is an OLB from St Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Huff checks in at 6 foot 3 inches and weighs 200 pounds. Overall, Huff is ranked as the 12th best OLB in the nation.

Next recruit is OLB and 3 star Samuel Brooks from Northwestern in Miami, Florida. Brooks also checks in at 6 foot 1.5 inches and weighs 195 pounds and Brooks is ranked the 52nd OLB in the nation. This is great addition keeping Samuel Brooks in state and at home.

DE: 1 Commit

The only DE the Hurricanes signed is 3 star Cameron Williams who was orignally leaning towards the Gators but flipped for Miami. Williams plays weakside defensive end and checks in at 6 foot 5 inches weighing 215 pounds. Overall, Williams is from Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Florida and is the 29th ranked WDE in the nation.

Offensive Line: 2 Commits

Leading into the next recruit is 3 star OT Adam ElgGammal. Adam is from Christ the King Regional in Middle Village, New York, Adam checks in at a large 275 pounds with a 6-foot-5 inch frame. Overall, Adam is the 100th ranked OT in the nation and can hopefully impact this Canes OL.

The last OL is the 3 star center Jakai Clark who is originally from Grayson in Loganville Georgia. Jakai Clark checks in at a beefy 6 foot 3 inches and weighs in at 305 pounds. Overall. Jakai is the 17th ranked center in the nation.

QB: 1 Commit

Finally, best for last is 3 star dual-threat QB Peyton Matocha who is from St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. Peyton stands at a respectable 6 foot 4 inches and 204 pounds and is listed as the 34th best dual threat QB. Overall, Peyton has average running ability but shows great ball placement and touch.
