Johnny Walker is blazing his way past high school O-lines and picking up college offers from all over the country. Walker will be starting his senior season with a Chamberlain team stacked with talent on both sides of the ball.

Here is the list of a few Chiefs that have been offered D-1 scholarships entering their senior season:

OT- @LopezreyesC Cesar Reyes has offers from LSU, Nebraska, North Carolina among others.

WR- @kaleb12long Kaleb Long has offers from Syracuse, Indiana and USF, to name a few.

DL/TE- @jaygotmoves20 James Ash is being recruited by Illinois, Kansas State, USF and their cross-state rival, UCF.

On March 5th, Walker posted on Twitter that he received an offer from FIU.

If Walker decides to attend the university following his last high school season he will have, currently, two underclassmen to compete against according to the signee list on 247sports.

Ty Danzy, @tydanzy ‏, listed at a monstrous 6’5″ and weighs 235 pounds. Danzy has highlights both pass rushing and dropping back into coverage. So it will be interesting to see what FIU does with this athlete. This Anderson, SC prospect possesses the ability to use both power and speed to get to the QB.  He also averaged 6.1 points on the Westside High basketball team and 61 tackles on the football field.

The other signee, Nathan White from Edgewater in Orlando Florida, would be the most similar in style of play to Walker. Both are very quick and will lean more towards the speed rush from the defensive end position. Both have some eating and lifting to do once they hit their prospective campuses. White is listed at 6’4, 215 pounds and Walker listed at 6’2, 200 pounds. This young man is also mentally strong, as he and his family spent periods of time living in shelters during high school career.

The good news for Walker is that he has one more high school year of preparation and could add to his frame and be ready to compete at the next level.

“His work ethic is elite. He’s one of the strongest on the team and he’s been that [way] since he walked onto campus as a freshman,” said Walker’s defensive coordinator Trae Gentle.

Another thing that could happen if Walker and White meet at FIU, is that one may become a true outside linebacker and the other may remain a pass rush specialist.

“This year we are looking to move him around quite a bit and allow him to drop back into coverage,” added Gentle.

With that added information about Walker’s upcoming on-field future, it seems that he will become an even more versatile player.

During the upcoming season, FIU will look to improve their sack numbers, only racked up 22 last season. With the signing of White and Danzy, the Golden Panthers will add some speed and power off the edge.

Walker would be a wonderful addition to the roster. Although Miami seems to be in the picture as well. Maybe, just maybe, the underdog wins the fight and FIU signs him.
